3. An Act of Kindness

The boy ran home and returned minutes later with a sandwich. He placed it gently in front of the dog, who devoured it hungrily. Watching him eat, the boy smiled. He didn’t know where the dog came from or what he’d been through, but he knew one thing: no one should be left hungry. Especially not a dog with such kind, tired eyes.

4. A Secret Friend

The boy couldn’t take the dog home — his parents had made that clear. But he visited every day. Same corner, same time. He brought food, water, and company.
