14. The Sleepover Pact

One weekend, the boy had a sleepover at a friend’s house. But when night came, he couldn’t sleep. Neither could Lucky, back at home. The next morning, the boy rushed back, and Lucky ran in circles like it’d been years. That was when they made a silent promise: no more sleepovers apart. From then on, if the boy was going, so was Lucky — even if it meant sleeping bags on the living room floor.
