The Caucasian Shepherd, or Caucasian Ovcharka, is a beast. Originally bred to protect livestock from wolves and bears, this dog is huge, aggressive, and not afraid of anything. They’re extremely loyal—but only to their family. Outsiders? Not welcome. If you don’t know what you’re doing, this dog will run right over you, literally and figuratively. Handling one of these requires physical strength, intense training, and nerves of steel. Casual dog lovers, beware.

Presa Canario

The Presa Canario is a massive, intimidating dog with a strong guarding instinct. Originally bred for working livestock and protection, this breed doesn’t take kindly to strangers. With a broad, muscular build and a dominant personality, they require early, consistent training. If they sense weakness, they take control. Attacks from Presa Canarios have been severe—and sometimes fatal. Without a strong, confident handler, this dog can become dangerous fast. Definitely not a breed for amateurs.
